The idiom “A leopard can’t change its spots” seems to be showing its tail once again. As noted on an older Writer Beware article, Publish America came back and this time with a new name.
The reason I’m mentioning this now is because authors have recently begun receiving emails to publish with this company. Personally I have not received any, but since authors are bringing this up, I think it’s worth mentioning.
As a lot of us are aware, Publish America claims to publish books for free, but do they really? The best thing you can do for your career, especially with so many people flocking to the Internet to self-publish books, is to stay informed. Don’t sign contracts without knowing what you’re signing and, as always, ask. There’s a world of authors to ask questions and you’ll save yourself some headaches along the way.
